  • Ineos is setting up dealership networks around the world in preparation for the start of Grenadier sales, with the company planning 200 sales and service locations in 50 countries by the end of 2022.

  • Production of the Grenadier is scheduled to begin this summer, with sales in Europe starting in the summer of 2022 and in the US by the end of the year.

  • Ineos has begun pre-series production of the Grenadier, which will be built in Hambach, France, at a former Smart factory.

Ineos is getting ready for the start of Grenadier sales, and has revealed the first batch of over a hundred planned dealer locations around the world. The company behind the back-to-basics sport utility has announced the first locations in the UK that will open in June.

The UK will see 24 retail locations for the Grenadier open this summer, out of a planned 200 locations in 50 countries that Ineos plans to open by the end of the year. The company’s goal is to have the majority of its customers be just 45 minutes from a sales and service location. Ineos is recruiting agricultural equipment dealers and 4×4 specialists to sell the Grenadier as well.

“We have worked tirelessly for over a year to find retail partners in the UK that share our enthusiasm and excitement for the Grenadier,” said Gary Pearson, Head of UK and MENA for Ineos Automotive. “They understand 4X4 users and their requirements, and have a proven track record for exceptional customer service. Together with these partners, we look forward to providing Grenadier customers with the advice, guidance, and support they need.”

Ineos also says it will offer the SUV online, with the company promising “as much or as little in person interaction” as buyers want. While this certainly suggests an online sales model in some markets, Ineos is expected to rely on recruiting existing dealership chains in the US.

The company is currently working to set up those retail locations in the US, with plans for the start of sales by the end of 2022.

The Grenadier itself will be produced in Hambach, France, with the first vehicle deliveries just weeks away for UK customers. The Grenadier model to be offered stateside will feature only the BMW 3.0-liter inline-six as a powerplant, paired with a ZF transmission, as demand for diesel models stateside is not expected to be as worthwhile as in other global markets.

Ineos is expected to announce US pricing closer to the start of sales later this year, with an expected starting price of around $50,000.
