AT&T will let you mix and match unlimited wireless plans

AT&T on Monday said it’s giving wireless customers more flexibility by letting them pick a different unlimited plan for each line on their account. The program, which AT&T is calling Unlimited Your Way, lets you select the unlimited plan you want — Starter, Extra or Elite — instead all lines having to use and pay for the same plan.

“We recognize that individuals have different wireless needs and not all family members want the same rate plan,” said David Christopher, executive vice president of AT&T Mobility, in a release. “With the launch of Unlimited Your Way we’re making it simple – now customers can pick the best combination of unlimited wireless plans for each family member – all with access to fast, reliable and secure nationwide AT&T 5G included at no extra charge.”

For an account with four lines, the Unlimited Starter plans starts at $35 a month; the Unlimited Extra plan starts at $40 a month and includes 15GB of hotspot data and 50GB of premium data; and the Unlimited Elite plan starts at $50 a month and includes 30GB of hotspot data, 100GB of premium data and HBO Max.

AT&T said customers pick the best combination of unlimited wireless plans for each person on their account, potentially saving money. The company laid out the following savings scenario:

For example, one person can choose Unlimited Extra for hotspot data for working at home, another can choose Unlimited Elite for HBO Max entertainment options, and the other two lines can stay on Unlimited Starter. That would cost $160 per month compared to $200 per month to keep everyone on Unlimited Elite.

AT&T isn’t the only carrier offering customer this type of flexibility. Verizon also lets you mix and match unlimited plans depending on what each line of your account needs.
